Bring Your Child In If

  • The rash is not improving after a few days of home care.

  • Testing when needed, such as a rapid strep test for the sandpaper rash of scarlet fever.
  • Treatment that matches the cause, from creams and antihistamines to antibiotics for skin infections.
  • Clear guidance on whether the rash is contagious and when your child can go back to school or daycare.
