Because the trip takes a little planning, we suggest booking online or calling (832) 215-8884 before you leave. That way your spot is held while you drive.

Notes for La Porte Parents

School and sports forms. La Porte is served by La Porte ISD. Whether your child is at Baker Sixth Grade Campus, La Porte Junior High, Lomax Junior High or La Porte High School, we can complete a sports or school physical. Bring the district or league form with you.

Bay days. La Porte sits on the northwest end of Galveston Bay, and the shoreline at Sylvan Beach Park was rebuilt with sand brought in from elsewhere. A day by the water can end with a cut from a shell or a sunburned, worn-out kid. The CDC recommends keeping open cuts out of salt and brackish water, and washing a wound with soap and clean running water if it does get wet.

When closer is better. For a true emergency, do not drive 25 minutes to us. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Urgent care is for the illnesses and injuries that can safely wait the length of a drive.

Go to the ER or call 911 if:

  • A baby younger than 3 months has a fever of 100.4°F or more
  • There is severe trouble breathing, choking, or a blue or gray color around the lips
  • Someone has a seizure, faints, or becomes suddenly confused
  • Heavy bleeding is not controlled by firm pressure
  • An adult shows signs of a stroke or heart attack: a drooping face, slurred speech or chest pain
  • There may be a neck or back injury. Do not move the person
